Motorists left facing disruption after Oldbury crash leaves road blocked

Motorists were left facing delays after a collision on a road near Oldbury left the carriageway blocked.

West Midlands Roads put out a warning at 11.09am to warn motorists of delays on the A4123 Wolverhampton Road heading towards Quinton, after a collision at the junction with Causeway Green Road which left the road blocked.

A spokesman for West Midlands Roads said: "At the A4123 Wolverhampton Road, on the junction with Causeway Green Road in Oldbury, a collision across the junction means the A4123 is blocked towards Quinton, also impacting Causeway Green Road across junction.

"Expect delays to your journey, plan ahead."

A later update at 11.40 said: "The Causeway Green Road junction has re-opened for traffic, however there is one lane closed on the A4123 near the junction, heading towards Quinton."

A final message at 12.15pm said the road had fully reopened, saying: "The collision at the A4123 Wolverhampton Road and Causeway Green Road in Oldbury has been cleared and regular traffic can resume."
