'I'll be chauffeuring people around in it' - VolksMagic boss hands over 2025 Harlequin VW Polo to competition winner after donating 10,000 new gifts to children's charities
The keys to a one-of-a-kind Volkswagon Polo were handed over to a lucky competition winner following a Black Country workshop's 'Santa's A Gangster' charity raffle.
Volksmagic in Oldbury run the appeal every year for local children's charities and were able to donate more than 10,000 new gifts to youngsters across the West Midlands over the 2025 Christmas period.
Donators were entered into a raffle for a number of bespoke items made at the workshop, including a car, a Snap-on toolbox, and a vintage BMX, all designed in harlequin style to mark 30 years since the car company unveiled the design.

Managing director Lee Southerton arranged the handover of the car with competition winner Jane Davies at the VolksMagic site on Park Lane in Oldbury, and admitted he found it tough to say goodbye to 'his baby.'
"It's a sad day for us, it really is, and it came to us as a tribute car really," Lee began. "In 2025 the VW Polo was 50 years old, the harlequin theme was 30 years old, Santa's A Gangster turned 10 years old and funnily enough the person who we brough the car off, it was his mums, and she would have been 100 years old, so how is that for a bunch of anniversaries?
"We got 10,345 new gifts in 2025 as part of the fundraising and the tickets that we sold, and Jane played a part in that."
The lucky recipient was Jane Davies from Penn, who entered the raffle after spotting the car at VDubs in the Valley festival in Shropshire in September 2025.
"I knew nothing about Santa's A Gangster before this," she explained. "I bought tickets to VDubs in the Valley because I just wanted to have a weekend away, and when I got there I saw the car and fell in love with it straight away.
"Lee rung me up pretending to be the police and told me to call him back and I was a little bit frightened to be honest, but I'm glad I did because it turned out to be this.
"I've got a family member whose niece wants the car for her prom which suits me, I'll be chauffeuring people around in it."
