Right Steps Care wants to convert the three-bedroom semi-detached house in Hill Road, Tividale into a care home for two youngsters aged from seven to 17.

The latest plan will also see the garage converted into an office and shower room.

The driveway will also be extended to provide parking for up to three cars.

A statement issued on behalf of the applicant, which already operates a care home in Oldbury,

"The case officer’s notes assert that the location of the site could be considered to be appropriate, stating that ‘the application site is situated in residential area, where arguably small children's homes would be best served’," said the report.

The statement said that at the moment the house was occupied by a family of four, and that the scheme would lead to no more noise or traffic than was at present the case.

It said the latest application addressed the concerns previously raised, and asked that the proposals be approved.

"This will enable care and support to be provided for young people in a safe, caring household environment, giving them a foundation from which they can go on to live happy and fulfilling lives in the community," it said.

The matter will now be considered by Sandwell Council's planning department.
