'Persistent' Stourbridge offender behind bars for breaching criminal behaviour order
A 48-year-old man has been put behind bars after repeatedly breaching the terms of a criminal behaviour order (CBO).
Craig Davies had been ordered to abide by a CBO in May 2024 for previous offences. The order, running until May 2026, banned him from sleeping within 50 metres of any retail premise, begging in public, approaching a person to ask for money, cigarettes or food; urinating in a public place other than a toilet, or consuming any illegal drugs in public.
Since the beginning of July this year, Davies has breached the order four times.
Officers were out on foot patrol in Victoria Passage, Stourbridge, on July 2, when they spotted him breaching his order.
He breached it again on High Street the following day, then again on July 14 and 18.
Davies, of no fixed address, appeared before magistrates at Wolverhampton on Wednesday, August 13 after pleading guilty to four breaches of a criminal behaviour order.

He was sentenced to 24 weeks in custody.
Sergeant for Stourbridge, Imran Mohammed, said: "Craig Davies’ persistent offending and breach of his CBO shows a complete disregard for the law and the order placed against him over a year ago.
"My team worked hard to get the CBO imposed as we know his behaviour has been a blight on the community due to his persistent offending and anti-social behaviour.
"I’m pleased the court have now imposed a custodial sentence on him and hope this provides some relief for businesses and residents.
"We won’t stand for his continual breaches and I hope this shows the community that we’re taking a strong stance on anyone found to be causing a nuisance in our area."
