The locally listed Blue Brick in Brierley Hill Road has been empty since it closed three years ago.

Since then, the ground floor has been hit by fire, and concerns have been expressed about the condition of the historic gas lamps outside the front of the building.

But plans to convert part of it into a car hire yard were rejected last year following objections from residents and the Campaign for Real Ale.

Now new plans have been submitted by owner Connect Property Acquisitions to add an extra gable to the frontage of the building, convert it into 11 flats, and also build a pair of semi-detached houses behind the pub.
