23-year-old pleads not guilty to causing death of cyclist on Dudley bypass by dangerous driving
A man has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a cyclist in Dudley by dangerous driving.
Twenty-year-old Jamie Pritchard was fatally injured when his bicycle was involved in a collision with a car in Duncan Edwards Way near Dudley town centre at about 10pm on June 23, 2024.
Accused driver Tyler Hall, of The Beck, Netherton, pleaded not guilty to causing Mr Pritchard's death by dangerous driving.
At the hearing, held at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Judge Michael Chambers KC imposed an interim road ban on the 22-year-old defendant with immediate effect.
"Your case is being adjourned for trial on April 26, 2027. It is important that you keep in touch with your solicitors in case the date is changed."
Judge Chambers warned Hall that if he failed to attend the trial may be heard in his absence.
Mr Pritchard suffered critical injuries in the crash and received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham, where he died five days later.
