General store in Dudley town centre applying for booze licence
The owners of a general store in Dudley town centre have lodged an bid for a booze licence.
Liwia Shop, in New Street, has applied to Dudley Council for a permit to sell alcohol 7am-11pm on Mondays-Sundays under the Licensing Act 2003. Goods on sale include vapes and sweets from the United States.
The notice states: "I Alex Smith hereby give notice that an application was made to Dudley Council on March 13 for the grant of a new premises licence to operate a premises at - 10 New Street Dudley DY1 1LP from which the following licensable activities are proposed. Retail of alcohol for consumption off the premises."

The application may be inspected free of charge at the council at he Licensing department, Lister Road Depot, Dudley DY2 8JW or online at dudley.gov.uk. Any interested party may make representations in writing within 28 days of the application being made.
Deadline for comments is April 9.
Shoppers in the town centre say more effort is needed to attract for visitors there.
