Two teenagers arrested over fatal stabbing of Yassin Alama in Birmingham

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of Yassin Alama.

Yassin, aged 19, was found with serious injuries and died in Hutton Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, at around 5.20pm on November 16.

Yesterday (November 23) a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder at a property in Birmingham.

An 18-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

West Midlands Police has thanked everyone who has so far shared its earlier appeal for information, and has asked anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding Yassin's death to contact officers directly.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers investigating the murder of Yassin Alama have made an arrest. 

"A 17-year-old boy was arrested at a property in Birmingham yesterday on suspicion of murder. An 18-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeal for information. Yassin’s family have been updated on the latest developments, and we continue to support them.

"We are continuing our enquiries after Yassin was fatally stabbed in Handsworth on November 16."
