Man, 40, arrested after Birmingham crash resulted in death of 34-year-old man
Police have arrested a man and recovered a vehicle following a suspected non-stop fatal crash in Birmingham.
A 34-year-old man died after being struck by a car on Longbridge Lane, Northfield, with the collision taking place shortly after 11.15pm last night.
The man was struck on a pedestrian crossing close to Longbridge Train Station.

He was given treatment at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital but sadly died later on.
West Midlands Police stopped a vehicle on Monday, September 22 morning and arrested a 40-year-old man.
He was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He remains in custody as police enquiries continue.
Specially trained officers are supporting the deceased man’s family during this difficult time.
Sergeant Rich Evans, from West Midlands Police's Serious Road Traffic Collision Unit, said: “We have arrested a man in connection with the fatal collision. However, we are still appealing for people with information to please contact us.
“We particularly want to speak to people who may have CCTV or dashcam footage which could help us with our enquiries.”
