Lights, camera, action! Harry Potter star in Bridgnorth as film crews transform High Street for TV drama series
Bridgnorth residents are starstruck as film crews have been spotted in the market town.
Filming crews were spotted on Bridgnorth's Whitburn Street, on the junction with High Street, filming for a new drama by English writer and Church of England priest, Reverend Richard Coles.

'Murder Before Evensong' for Channel 5 features Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in the film adaptations of Harry Potter.

Pictures from the scene show a 1982 Volvo surrounded by studio lights and actors.

Resident Caroline King said: "I just walked into the filming of Richard Coles' Murder Before Evensong!"
Letter to residents and shopkeepers
In a letter, sent to business owners and residents last Friday (January 31), The Lighthouse Ltd of Digbeth Loc Studios in Birmingham, said that filming is taking place around Shropshire for 'the next eight weeks' with several spots being used in Bridgnorth.
The letter read: "We are two weeks into shooting an adaptation of the novel 'Murder Before Evensong' written by the Reverend Richard Coles.
"We're filming at several locations around the Shropshire area over the next eight weeks and this coming Wednesday we're looking to shoot scenes at several spots in Bridgnorth.
"To maximise the available daylight, we will start at one end of High Town early on Wednesday morning at Castle Walk, and then mid-morning move to a location on Whitburn Street.

"After lunch we will be at the north end of the High Street near the North Gate and in one or two other small locations and we have also arranged to create a small market in the parking bays outside the Atrium."

The production group also took the chance to apologise for the distruption caused during the filming.

The letter continued: "We do come with quite a few trucks and people and although the majority of our vehicles will be at the Agricultural Centre for the day, we have arranged with Shropshire Council to be able to park some of our vehicles on the roads close to our intended locations.

"We'd like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and disruption we may cause."

The Channel 5 and AMC Networks’ Acorn TV production is being filmed across the West Midlands for over 13 weeks, including several days where they were filming at the former Express & Star offices.
The new production is the latest to appear in the West Midlands and Shropshire, with film crews also spotted in October last year, where the Express & Star building was turned into the Sovereign Bank.
