Scenic Staffordshire fundraising walk will honour late police officer for third year in row
An fundraising walk pays tribute to former police sergeant.
Three generations of the Naik family will participate in a fundraising walk for Katherine House Hospital in memory of Adrian Naik, a respected former police sergeant.
The walk will take place on Saturday, 26 September at 5.30 pm, and the money raised will go towards to Katharine House Hospice.
This walk is in its third year, and will follow a 5k scenic route through the banks of the rivers Sow and Trent and also through the grounds of the Shugborough Estate in Staffordshire.
Adrian, a former police sergeant, has been described as “one of a kind” by friends and family.

His widower, Gaynor said: “I come back every year because it keeps Adrian close to us. Walking alongside my family and others who understand means everything. It’s a special day for all of us.
“During Adrian’s illness, the care and compassion the hospice provided to both of us was second to none. All the staff were wonderful and brought comfort to the whole family at an incredibly difficult time.”
Lyndsey Howard, Community and Event Fundraiser at Katharine House Hospice, said: “Walk to Remember is such a meaningful event because every person taking part has someone special in their heart.
“Seeing families like Gaynor’s return year after year is incredibly moving and shows just how important these shared moments of remembrance can be.

“We’re delighted to be back at Shugborough for our third year, and we hope even more people will join us this September for what promises to be a very special evening of remembrance and reflection.”
Early bird tickets are £15 until June 30 for those who want to participate. Adult tickets start at £17.50 on July 1. Participation is free for children under the age of 12.
