Air Ambulance and other emergency services called to Netherton beauty spot after man suffers medical emergency

A Netherton beauty spot was the scene of a medical emergency which saw air and land ambulance crews called to the scene.

Two ambulances from West Midlands Ambulance Service and a helicopter from the Air Ambulance were called to Bumble Hole Nature Reserve around around 9.37am on Friday morning after reports of the medical emergency.

They found a man and administered specialist trauma care before he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency on St Peters Road at 9.37am, two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

"On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man. 

"Ambulance staff administered specialist trauma care at the scene before transporting the man to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by land ambulance. 

"The air crew travelled with the patient to help continue treatment en-route to hospital."
