Lower Gornal-based medical practice told it 'must improve' in latest inspection report
A medical practice in Lower Gornal has been told by government inspectors it needs to improve after its latest CQC inspection.
Lower Gornal Medical Practice in Bull Street, Gornal which serves just over 8,000 patients was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) between June 27 and July 2 this year - the report has just been published and says overall it requires improvement.

In the categories of safety, effectiveness and how well led the practice is, the inspection found they all required improvement, which is the third out of five possible ratings.
In terms of caring for patients and responsiveness the practice was rated good.
But the inspector found breaches of regulation in relation to good governance and has asked the practice for an action plan in response to the concerns found during this assessment.
