Three quarters of a million to be spent on 877 solar panels for Walsall hospital
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust has proposed to spend £724,800 on solar panels at a local hospital.
The trust wants to install 877 individual panels across 23 roof sections at Walsall Manor Hospital on Moat Road.
The bid is to support the organisation’s target of achieving net-zero and assisting with their decarbonising agenda.
Agent Vital Energi Utilities Ltd said installation will cut carbon emissions by nearly 77,000kg every year.

Freedom of Information figures state that the trust expects the scheme to cost £604,000 plus £120,800 in VAT.
The proposal is subject to planning permission from Walsall Council. A target date for a decision has been set later this month.
Agent Vital Energi Utilities said: “The proposed installation is in support of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s targets of achieving net zero carbon and assisting with their decarbonising agenda.
“The solar installation is anticipated to save over 76,906kg CO2/yr.”
