20 amazing photos capture hardy souls braving the chill in Chasewater charity Boxing Day dip
It was a morning for families and friends to come together and brave the cold and help to raise funds for charity.
More than 150 people took to the water at Chasewater Watersports Centre for the annual Boxing Day Dip, an event run by Chasewater Open Water Swimming Club to raise funds for Dementia UK.
There was a real mix of costumes being worn, with some more experienced swimmers decked out in wetsuits, swimming caps and proper footwear, while other took to the water in swimming trunks, swimming costumes and even bikinis.
While the water temperature at Chasewater didn't go above 4.4°C, the atmosphere amongst participants was one of fun, with plenty of jokes and laughter in the air, while a number of people had adorned fancy dress for the event.
At 11am, the signal went down for participants to enter the water, walking down the slipway of the Watersports Centre, with a lot of screams and shouts as people realised just how cold the water actually was.
While some people spent a few minutes in the water before leaving to towel down and get warm, others stayed in longer and even swam out towards the buoys around the centre.
We've picked out 20 photos which show the brave and hardy people who make the event what it is each year:
