Q3 Headteacher Peter Lee welcomed this recognition and said: “We are thrilled to be named as a Lead Hub School by the Department for Education and look forward to supporting schools both here in Sandwell and across the West Midlands in the coming months.”

Local councillors recently visited the school to congratulate staff and students on their achievement in March 2026.

Councillor Harnoor Bhullar, Sandwell Council’s Cabinet Member for Education who visited the school said “Q3 Academy Langley is a wonderful example of Child Friendly Sandwell in action. This is a school where children feel safe, respected and able to thrive. Their outstanding approach to behaviour and attendance shows what happens when young people are supported to flourish and when their voices truly matter. I am incredibly proud that the DfE has recognised their work nationally, and I know they will make a real difference as they support other schools across Sandwell and the wider West Midlands.”

The secondary school has an Ofsted rating of 'Good’.

Following an inspection in December 2024, Ofsted inspectors said, “Evidence gathered during this ungraded (section 8) inspection suggests that the school’s work may have improved significantly across all areas since the previous inspection. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection. The headteacher of this school is Peter Lee. The school is part of the Mercian Trust, which means other people in the trust also have responsibility for running the school. The trust is run by the chief executive officer (CEO), Daniel Parkes, and is overseen by a board of trustees, chaired by Kevin Davis.”

Q3 Academy Langley is located on Moat Road in Oldbury, Sandwell, West Midlands.
