The new City Learning Quarter college campus in Wolverhampton has seen the vast majority of the new exterior exposed to see, with contractor McLaughlin & Harvey continuing to remove the protective covering and scaffolding to unveil the distinctive terracotta coloured cladding.

It marked another landmark in the work on the campus, which saw ground broken in January 2024, and the £61 million Wolverhampton Council development will establish new educational facilities for Wolverhampton College, Adult Education Wolverhampton and Central Library, benefitting skills and employment outcomes for residents across the city and wider region.

New photos taken by Express & Star chief photographer Tim Thursfield show the scale of the work already done on the campus, situated around the Old Hall Street and St George’s Parade area and incorporating a site on the corner of Garrick Street and Bilston Street where the former Faces nightclub building once stood.

The majority of work on the exterior of the building looks like it has been completed, while large numbers of workmen working around the site can be seen putting finishing touches on the ground floor and interior areas.

Wolverhampton College have said the new campus is set to open to students in the autumn, with the Paget Road campus closing its doors, and spoke about the benefits of the new campus.
