A man has been arrested after a Ford Fiesta crashed into a lamppost and parked cars in Oldbury - road closed as police investigate
West Midlands Police arrested a man following a serious collision in Oldbury last night (Friday, March 20).
A Ford Fiesta was involved in a collision with a lamppost and parked cars in Newbury Lane at just before 11pm.
One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and a second with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police detained a 20-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs. He has been taken to hospital for assessment and will be questioned in due course.


The road remains closed off while police continue with their enquiries this afternoon.
A police officer at the scene told the Express & Star: "The road is closed now so that the council can repair a lamppost that was damaged.
"It's showing exposed cables, which can be dangerous, so the road is closed in the meantime."
Jess Andrews, aged 36, or the Newbury Lane, near the crash, said: "I heard the crash last night, but I didn't really know it was bad until tbe road was closed.
"It's surprising to see the roads still closed, peope are turning their cars around, but you don't want to walk on exposed wires.
"Tracey Reiner, aged 41, of the area, said: "Its been a bit hectic driving to the shops. Police were all over the place yestersay, it did make you a bit worried."
