Three arrests following armed robbery in West Midlands town

Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Sutton Coldfield.

West Midlands Police received reports of a robbery on Victoria Road, Sutton Coldfield, at around 2pm yesterday (Wednesday), where three people threatened a man with a knife and forced them to hand a large amount of cash over. 

Thankfully, the man was not injured.

Officers carried out fast-track enquiries and identified three men, and they were all arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

The trio have since been bailed pending further enquiries into the investigation.

Police currently have a dispersal order in place in Sutton Coldfield town centre due to an increase in anti-social behaviour.

The section 35 dispersal order is in place until 6.30pm on Saturday.

Officers have put in extra policing powers which will allow them to disperse anyone engaging in anti-social behaviour and causing a public nuisance. They have also increased the number of officers in the area.
