Three areas of the West Midlands saw drops in animal abuse offences between 2024 and 2025, while other areas rose, according to the latest figures. Find out where your local area stands below.

Animal abuse offences dealt with by West Midlands Police have risen from 106 in 2024 to 113 in 2025 (+6.6%), according to data released under the Freedom of Information Act

Birmingham had the most cases, with 51 incidents in 2025, making up over 42% of the total for the region. This was an increase of around 21% on the previous year.

However, Sandwell saw the biggest rise from 13 cases in 2024 to 20 in 2025 (+53.8%).

But while offences are rising in some areas - there were significant drops in three areas of the West Midlands. 

Solihull dropped sharply from 7 cases in 2024 to just 3 in 2025, a 57% fall. 

Walsall also fell, from 9 to 7 cases, a 22% decrease, while Wolverhampton saw its numbers cut just over half, from 13 to 6 cases (-54%).
