Girl, 16, arrested after staff member assaulted during Walsall ice cream robbery
Police have arrested a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of robbery after ice cream was stolen from a Walsall store.
The arrest comes after a West Midlands Police officer was called to a store on Ablewell Street, Walsall, to reports that a young girl had stolen an amount of ice-cream before assaulting a staff member.
During the incident, the suspect entered the premises and then picked up the ice cream before attempting to leave without paying.

A staff member stopped her; however, she was then punched multiple times, causing swelling to the left side of her face.
The girl was detained by security before response officers arrived and took her into custody, where she was later released on bail with strict conditions while police enquiries continue.
A force spokesperson said: "Combatting shop thefts is a priority at Walsall LPA and we launched Op Marigold in a bid to tackle shop thefts across the Walsall borough."
