Walsall man charged with more than five shop thefts in month-long crime spree
A Walsall man has beencharged with seven shop thefts from stores across Walsall.
Christopher Elmore, aged 36, from Walsall, is due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on March 19, charged with seven shop thefts from stores in the Walsall borough.
Elmore was arrested on Wednesday after being spotted by West Midlands Police officers with the Pleck neighbourhood policing team.
He was later charged with carrying out seven shop thefts between January 14 and February 12, with the force reassuring that tackling retail crime 'is a priority'.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Christopher Elmore, aged 36, from Walsall, will appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on March 19, charged with first hearing. He is charged with carrying out seven shop thefts between January 14 and February 12.
"Combatting shop thefts is a priority at Walsall LPA, and we launched Op Marigold in a bid to tackle shop thefts across the Walsall borough."
