Two 18-year-olds arrested after weapons seized from stolen vehicle in Walsall

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and possessing an offensive weapon in Walsall.

The West Midlands Police team, who concentrate on tackling serious youth violence and knife crime, pursued a vehicle on false plates which failed to stop in the Blakenhall Heath area.

Two occupants of the vehicle decamped near Well Lane and one was detained. A second offender was then arrested a short time later.

A hammer was also recovered from the vehicle. Two men, both aged 18, were taken into custody on suspicion of a number of offences including the theft of a motor vehicle, driving dangerously and possessing an offensive weapon. They have since been released on bail with strict conditions as our enquiries continue.
