Man charged with firearms offences outside Walsall address following a 'concern for welfare'

Police have arrested a man from Walsall following a firearms incident.

Mark Lowe, aged 52, from Walsall, is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today following an incident in Pleck, Walsall. 

West Midlands Police were called to Hough Road, Pleck, shortly after 9pm on Thursday night due to 'a concern for welfare'.

On arrival, police said a man was disarmed by officers and charged with two offences of possessing a prohibited weapon, and one offence of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. 

Lowe is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today, charged with the offences. 

A force spokesperson said: "We've arrested and charged a man with firearms offences following an incident outside an address in Walsall. 

"Officers were called to Hough Road, Pleck, shortly after 9pm on Thursday night, following a concern for welfare. A man was disarmed by firearms officers.

"Mark Lowe, aged 52, from Walsall, will appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today for a first hearing charged with two offences of possessing a prohibited weapon and one offence of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence."
