Man, 27, charged over Walsall town centre burglary and attempted beak-ins at two pubs

A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with a burglary and an attempted break-in at two pubs in Walsall town centre.

Police were called to reports of an intruder at a closed pub in Darwall Street on the morning of January 8. 

Officers attended quickly and recovered a crowbar at the scene.

A man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and further enquiries revealed that there had been an earlier attempted break-in at another pub on Park Street.

Tomasz Fortuna, of Walsall, has now been charged with burglary and attempted burglary.

He was remanded in custody and appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on January 9.
