Officers from West Midlands Police pursued the car after it failed to stop, with the car running red lights at speed before it was stopped on New Road.

A search of the car revealed class A and B drugs and that it had been linked to the theft of another vehicle in Halesowen in December and saw two men, a 20-year-old man from West Bromwich and a 25-year-old man from Birmingham arrested on suspicion of drug and theft offences.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Two men have been arrested after a car failed to stop for police during a pursuit in Tipton.

"The car was speeding, being driven dangerously through red traffic lights before it came to a stop on New Road, Tipton, in the early hours of this morning.

"Following a search, we recovered a quantity of class A and class B drugs and checks revealed the car was believed to be linked to a theft of another vehicle in Halesowen in December.

"A 20-year-old man from West Bromwich was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, dangerous driving, possession of class A and class B drugs and driving while under the influence of drugs.

"A 25-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class A and class B drugs.

"They remain in custody for questioning.

"Vehicle crime is a priority for us in Dudley and our officers are working hard to identify and prosecute anyone involved in committing such crimes."
