A man, aged 28, has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision in Wolverhampton.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man on Monday (December 22) on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.

A Seat Ibiza collided with another car on Goldthorn Hill, at the junction of Fowler Street, before hitting a woman on the pavement at around 8.40pm on Saturday.

A woman, in her 50s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

Ryan Stanley, of Newton Road, Birmingham, has now been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to stop.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (Wednesday).
