'It was pretty scary': Market traders speak of shock after man seen waving knife on Bilston High Street
There was still shock and alarm among market traders in Bilston who have told of a man seen waving a knife around in broad daylight.
The incident is believed to have happened at around 1pm on Thursday on the High Street in Bilston, near the junction of High Street, Church Street and Broad Street, with reports on social media of a man swinging a knife around and pointing it at several people.
West Midlands Police were called to the scene, with a video on social media showing a man being arrested and taken into a police car while shouting at the nearby crowd.
Officers said they have arrested a 32 year-old man who remains in custody for questioning.
The scene on the High Street today (Friday, November 11) was a normal, every day one, with market traders and shoppers chatting, but the events of the previous day were still being felt.
One trader, who asked not to be named, said she had heard the sounds on the street and spoke of her shock at what had happened.
She said: "We were working and talking to customers when we heard about a man walking down the high street and waving a knife about and while we heard he didn't harm anyone and kept walking, it was still pretty scary.
"It's frightening for Bilston, to be honest, as we don't normally get that sort of thing happening on a day-to-day basis, and it's really shocking that it happened, but I'm just relieved no one got hurt.

"I think it took about 20 minutes for the police to get here with all the gear on, but they did get the guy and I think it was just a one-off here."
Another trader said he had been working down the street when he'd be told to stay where he was and keep himself safe.
He said: "I was here talking to a customer when someone ran up and told us not to leave our stall because there was a guy waving a knife around.
"I don't think he was going to harm anyone, but it was still shocking to hear about and then see what was happening when he got arrested.
"I'm just happy no one got hurt as it could have been really bad, but it's not something that has happened around here before."
West Midlands Police said: "We have made an arrest after we received reports of a man carrying a knife on Bilston High Street at around 1.40pm yesterday. Officers responded and arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a knife. He remains in custody for questioning."
