Walsall murder trial begins with jury shown numerous mobile phone videos of fatal beating
The jury was shown footage of Mohammed Khan being fatally stabbed and stomped during a busy afternoon on a Walsall street in the first day of the major murder trial.
Mohammed Khan, 22, was beaten and stabbed on a packed Bloxwich Road near Leamore, Walsall, in the evening of Monday, March 17.
At Wolverhampton Crown Court the five week trial of five men accused of murdering him began with the prosecution showing graphic footage of the fatal beating taken by motorists and residents as it was happening.
Zain Raja, 22 and of Harden Road, Walsall; Asad Iftakhar, 33 and of Bloxwich Road, Walsall; Hassan Iftakhar, 33 and of Bloxwich Road; Amaan Khan, 21 and of Harden Road; and Iftakhar Ahmed, 52 and of Bloxwich Road, are charged with murder.
Such was the scale and viciousness of the violence several shocked passersby, motorists and residents took out their mobile phone and filmed what unfolded in front of them.
Mr Khan jumped out of a black Mercedes wielding a knife and attacked Zane Raja as the driver also embarked on some fisticuffs before driving off for reinforcements.

Mr Khan was left facing a growing group of attackers as other defendants ran out of their house with an axe and a knife to take part in the savage beating.
