Fresh appeal to find suspect as officers make arrest in connection with Yassin Alama murder in Birmingham
A fresh appeal has been launched to ask for help finding a suspect in a murder case as a man was arrested in connection with the incident.
West Midlands Police confirmed that officers had arrested a man on suspicion of helping the suspect wanted over the murder of Yassin Alama, who was stabbed to death in Handsworth on Sunday evening.
The suspect, aged 20, was arrested at around 1am on Tuesday morning in Birmingham on suspicion of assisting an offender, as part of the investigation into the murder of Yassin Alama, who was stabbed on Hutton Road, at around 5.20pm on Sunday.
The force confirmed it is still searching for Oumar Traore, aged 17, who is wanted for questioning over the murder of Yassin.
It also said officers had made a number of attempts to arrest Traore since the death of Yassin, and continue to appeal for the public’s help to track him down.

Jenny Birch, from the West Midlands Police Homicide team, said: "We have officers working around the clock to locate and arrest Traore.
"I’d urge him to hand himself in at his nearest police station immediately. Anyone who is helping him evade capture also faces arrest.
"Yassin’s family have been left absolutely devastated by what has happened, and we are continuing to update them and support them as our investigation continues.
"If anyone sees Traore, or has information about where he might be, they should not approach him but call us straight away on 999, quoting log 3135 of 16 November."
