Woman assaulted in racially aggravated attack in Wolverhampton - police launch appeal
An urgent police appeal has been launched after a woman was assaulted by a group of men in what has been described as a racially aggravated attack.
West Midlands Police have launched the appeal following the incident, which saw a women in her 50s attacked by a group of four to five men on Waddens Brook Lane in Wednesfield on Monday evening.
The force said the men had been wearing dark clothing with their hoods up and had made attempts to hit the woman with a weapon like a metal bar, while a handheld electrical stun device was also used.
It said that the woman had sustained pain in her neck and shoulders and has asked for anyone with any information about the offenders, one of which was described as white, to get in touch.
Detective Inspector Racheal Allen, from the West Midlands Police Major Crime Unit said: “This was a nasty assault with a racially aggravated element and we’re working hard to find those responsible.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information including dashcam footage and CCTV to please contact us.
