Lee Adams, the brother of Matthew Adams, said he wasn't "overly concerned" when his brother phoned him to tell him he had been in a fight.

A statement read out by prosecutor Vincent Scully to Wolverhampton Crown Court said: "I thought he would get over it, we had been in pub fights before."

Matthew Adams died on March 23, 2023, five days after the incident at the Gough Arms in Jowetts Lane, West Bromwich the previous Saturday.

The statement from Lee read: "It was Mothering Sunday the day after so we were having a family meal when Matthew phoned me to tell me about what had happened the night before.
