Two arrested after woman killed in hit-and-run collision in Wolverhampton
Two people have been arrested after a woman died in a hit-and-run crash in Wolverhampton.
The woman in her 20s was hit on Birmingham Road, near Johnson Street, Blakenhall shortly after 10pm yesterday (Saturday) by a car which did not stop, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police launched an appeal to find the vehicle involved. Now West Midlands Police has confirmed a man and a woman have been arrested.
A spokesperson for the force said: "A man aged 24 and a woman aged 23 have both been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and remain in police custody.
"The vehicle thought to have been involved in the collision has now been recovered as part of our investigation, and we are grateful to everyone who shared our earlier appeal to find it.
"Our enquiries are continuing and we would urge anyone with information or footage to call us on 101 quoting log 4670 of October 11, or emailing sciu@westmidlands.police.uk."
