Brandon Addison, from Bilston, was sentenced alongside three other HMP Brinsford prisoners at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (October 3) after they battered a new inmate at HMP Brinsford so severely that his spleen was lacerated.

Addison, 22, was further sentenced for four more offences after waging a one-man war on prison officers which left his victims humiliated, distressed and riddled with anxiety due to the disturbing nature of the attacks.

Trae Bunn, 22, Brodi Futrill, 21, and Braydon Whittaker, 22, along with Addison pleaded guilty to assault causing grievous bodily harm after being captured on the prison's association room CCTV attacking their victim.

The four, already in prison for various violent crimes, co-ordinated their attack to cause maximum damage to their victim who spent five days in hospital after the beating on May 10 last year.

Between them they will now have to serve an extra 10 years and nine months behind bars.

The court heard that Addison's attacks on prison officers, especially females, saw them entrapped in vulnerable situations.

Prosecuting, Mr Michael Williams said: "Addison was involved in four incidents involving aggression towards prison officers in July and September last year.
