Man charged after violent attack involving firearm, machetes, knives and baseball bats on Walsall street

Another man has been charged in connection with a violent incident which saw four people seriously injured in an attack involving multiple weapons.

Amar Khan was arrested on Thursday in connection with the incident, which happened on Reedswood Lane in Walsall on July 31 last year and saw a car rammed and the men inside set upon by a group of men.

The attack left all the men with serious, life-altering injuries requiring multiple surgeries and one victim was placed in an induced coma due to the severity of their injuries and saw eight men convicted and jailed for almost 120 years.

Khan was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm, possessing a firearm and having a knife and appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Saturday.

He was sent to Crown Court for trial in custody, with a Plea and Trial Preparation hearing due to take place at Wolverhampton Crown Court at 10am on October 24.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've charged another man in connection with serious disorder involving weapons in Walsall.

"Amar Khan was arrested on Thursday in connection with a violent group attack in Reedswood Lane in July last year. 

"Four people were seriously injured.

"The 40-year-old has now been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm, possessing a firearm and having a knife.

"He was remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Saturday, September 27.

"Eight other men were previously convicted in relation to the disorder and jailed for almost 120 years."
