Investigation launched after reports teenage boy sexually assaulted in Netherton

A police investigation has been launched after a teenage boy was reported as having been sexually assaulted in Netherton.

West Midlands Police said it was investigating the incident, which was reported to have happened near Molyneux Road some time in the last few weeks.

It has described the suspect as a white man in his late 50s and asked for anyone with any information to get in touch as soon as possible.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating after reports of a sexual assault in Netherton.

"It has been reported to us that a teenage boy was sexually assault near Molyneux Road in recent weeks. We are making enquiries to identify a specific date when the incident happened.

"The suspect has been described as a white man in his late 50s, around 5ft 10 ins tall, wears glasses and was wearing a red baseball cap, black shorts, and blue backpack.

"Our enquiries are ongoing as we speak to any potential witnesses and review any CCTV footage from the area.
