Neighbourhood teams across Walsall have been busy as they took part in raids on a cannabis farm, recovered stolen vehicles, and worked alongside StreetWatch volunteers in a week of action.

During the week, the Willenhall team raided a cannabis farm after carrying out a warrant at a property in the Short Heath area, seizing 257 plants and arresting a 22-year-old man.

The man was charged with the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

The Willenhall team also recovered two stolen vehicles, as well as engaging with the Scholars Heath StreetWatch group.

As well as busting cannabis farms and recovering stolen goods, officers at the force's St Matthew's team attended St Matthew's Church in Walsall, where they spoke to staff and members of the community, offering crime prevention advice and guidance.

Blakenall officers were also on the streets patrolling across the region and responding to reports of anti-social behaviour.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Aldridge officers joined StreetWatch volunteers from Aldridge Central Group, where they visited the precinct off Anchor Road and chatted to people about joining StreetWatch and looking out for their communities.

"Our neighbourhood team in Darlaston also recovered a suspected stolen car which had been abandoned and blocking access to a resident's property."
