Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing at West Bromwich pub
A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in a West Bromwich pub, police have revealed.
Daljit Bhadher, 46, from Birmingham, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife following an incident at The Royal Castle Bar and Restaurant in Sams Lane, West Bromwich, on July 20.
Police said the man in his 40s was taken to hospital with injuries which were “thankfully not life-threatening.”
Bhadher appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 21.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We were called following a stabbing at a venue in Sams Lane, West Bromwich, just after midnight on July 20.
“A man in his 40s went to hospital with injuries which were thankfully not life-threatening.

“A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a knife.
“Daljit Bhadher from Birmingham has since been charged with the offences and appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on July 21.
“Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information can contact us via 101 and quote 20/315683/25.”
Sandwell Council will now review the licence of the Royal Castle Bar and Restaurant.
The force said the premises were “associated with serious crime and disorder or both.”
A date for the hearing has yet to be finalised.
The notice for the review by Sandwell Council said: “An application for a summary review has been made by a senior police officer of West Midlands Police, in their opinion the premises are associated with serious crime and serious disorder or both.
“On July 20, 2025, West Midlands Police received a report of disorder at the Royal Castle Bar and Restaurant, Sams Lane, West Bromwich. A customer was stabbed inside the premises after disorder occurred.
“As a result, incident officers are investigating an offence of attempted murder.”
The restaurant posted on social media on July 23 that it was no longer serving alcohol.
Other listings state the pub and restaurant is ‘temporarily closed.’ The closing time for the West Bromwich venue is 10.30pm during the week and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
