Staffordshire Police officer banned from driving
A Staffordshire Police officer has been banned from driving for more than two years.
Sergeant Karl Breen, 38, was convicted for failing to provide a specimen of breath following a road traffic collision in March.
At Derby Magistrates Court on Tuesday(7), he was disqualified from driving for 29 months and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Breen, who worked at the Stoke North Neighbourhood Policing Team, pleaded guilty to the offence, which occurred on the evening of March 2, at Cannock Magistrates Court on April 17.
Deputy Chief Constable at Staffordshire Police, Nick Baker, said: "I am extremely disappointed in this officer's conduct.
"I want to reassure the public that any officer that chooses to act unlawfully will be held to account for their actions."
Sergeant Breen remains suspended from duty and internal misconduct proceedings have been initiated.
