Man in court over burglary and theft

A man has appeared in court charged with burglary and theft.

James Hayes, of no fixed address, appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on January 18.

The 38-year-old's charge relates to a burglary that took place in Rugeley on Wednesday.
