Husband in court over murder of wife in Walsall
A husband accused of murdering his wife after her body was found at their family home appeared in court today.
Bank worker Jasvir Ram Ginday spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address at Walsall Magistrates Court.
Varkha Rani's body was found by police at the couple's home in Victory Lane, Reedswood, Walsall at around 8pm on Friday. She had reportedly married her husband in a lavish ceremony in India.
Ginday, aged 32, is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody. No plea was given to a charge of murder.
The victim is believed to be in her 20s.
Ginday is one of 10 people to be arrested. The nine other people, four men and five women, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The victim has not yet been formally identified and further forensic tests are due to take place tomorrow.
A cordon remained in place around the house and two cars remained parked outside over the weekend. Another Vauxhall vehicle across the road was also covered in police tape as police officers stood guard outside the property.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarbit Johal, who is leading the investigation, said they were keen to speak to anyone who could help them with information.
