Road teams could been seen setting up a barricade around the large sinkhole on Wednesday evening, with Worcestershire Council saying that it was working to establish the cause and then conduct a repair.

A spokeswoman for Worcestershire County Council said: “Worcestershire County Council was made aware of this issue on Wednesday evening, July 15.

“As a result the road has been closed to traffic whilst we work with utility companies to establish the cause of the void.

“A repair will be carried out as soon as is practically possible.”
