It is closing due to expiry of the lease

Codsall Post Office is moving from one Midcounties Co-op store to another this month.

It will close at Midcounties Co-operative Food, 14 Station Road, Wolverhampton, WV8 1BX, on Thursday, September 10 at 5.30pm, due to the expiry of the lease.

It is moving to the nearby Co-op Food Market, 28-32 Wood Road, Codsall, WV8 1DB. A permanent branch within the store is being built, which will open in mid-October.

A temporary branch will open at the 28-32 Wood Road store in the interim.

This interim branch is due to open on Monday, September 14 at 1pm. There will be one Post Office counter instead of the three counters that there will be in the permanent branch, which will be in a dedicated area of the store.

The temporary branch will have all the Post Office services that people need every day including banking, bill payments, parcels and mails including different mails providers. See notes for editors for services available during the interim period.

The current full range of Post Office services currently offered will be reintroduced when the permanent branch opens including passport services, vehicle tax renewal, foreign currency, ID verification services.

During the branch transfer and a temporary reduction in Post Office counters alternative branches (visit www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder for details of services) include:

  • Lane Green Post Office, 13-15 Bilbrook Road, Codsall, WV8 1EU
  • Pendeford Post Office, Pendeford Avenue, Wolverhampton, WV6 9EH

Codsall Post Office’s opening hours will remain as Monday to Friday: 9am – 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 1pm for both the temporary and the permanent location.

The new premises has a dedicated customer car park offering over 100 parking spaces for customers of the Co-op Food Market store and those using the Post Office branch, and with designated disabled parking and parent and child bays.
