Customer giveaways as new Subway opens doors in Walsall town centre
Delighted customers were handed free t-shirts when a new takeaway opened a new branch in Walsall town centre.
A new Subway threw open its doors in Park Street in Walsall, near the Saddlers Shopping Centre, on Monday (November 24).

The official opening was performed by Walsall mayor Councillor Louise Harrison, watched on by the chain's area manager Irtaza Sajid, customers and staff members plus family and friends.

T-shirts and notebooks were presented to the first 100 customers to pop into the premises which features food order kiosks and seating.

The business has relocated from the opposite of the street as the building where it was previously based is due to be demolished as part of a major scheme to transform Walsall town centre. Under the Connected Gateway Project several buildings in Park Street will be flattened to create a new plaza by widening the alley known as Butler's Passage which links the railway station to Park Street and the St Paul’s Street bus station.

Subway branch franchise owner Anand Singh says: "We were a t the old site for about three years, but the building is being demolished for the town centre redevelopment work so we had to move out. We've move to the other side of Park Street to a unit which part of the Saddlers Centre. We have all the latest technology kiosks here.
"It's been really good so far all of the free t-shirts and the books were given away to our customers on the first day of opening.
The new place has been well received. People seem really happy with it."
Mr Singh runs two other Subway branches in Church Street in Bloxwich and High Street in Brownhills.
