'Everyone has been telling me how much they'll miss me': Bilston menswear store owner emotional one month away from closing store for good
The owner of a popular Bilston menswear store has spoken of feeling more emotional and the kindness of customers one month ahead of closing the store for the last time.
Chris White will lock the doors of A.R. White & Son for the last time on October 11, marking the end of 96 years of providing fine clothing and a tailored service to the people of Bilston and the surrounding area.
The 63-year-old made the decision earlier in the year to close the store on Church Street, which was established by Albert Reginald White in 1929, with Kenneth White coming on board in 1949, before knocking the shop down and rebuilding it in the same spot, saying it was the right time to wind down and retire.

With the final day set to be on Saturday, October 11, Mr White said he was beginning to get more emotional about it, speaking about how many people had come into the store to wish him well.
He said: "I'm getting quite sad about it as it's getting closer and closer, so the emotions are definitely coming and customers are coming in and shaking my hand and thanking me for looking after them and, likewise, me thanking them for all their support.
