Former Black Country scout hut for sale at auction with £25,000 guide price
A pre-First World War building in the Black Country that went on to be used as a scout hut is set to go under the hammer at auction next month.
The property was built in the early 20th century on the Victoria Road in Darlaston, in the borough of Walsall, and was until recently home to the 4th Darlaston Scout Troop.
Bond Wolfe has been instructed the freehold detached building on behalf of Walsall Council and it is among the lots set to feature in its livestreamed sale on Thursday September 11.
The property, which has a guide price of £25,000-plus, may be suitable for redevelopment or alternative uses, subject to planning permission - Bond Wolfe's chief executive Gurpreet Bassi said.

He added: “This freehold detached building, until recently used as a scout hut, is a single storey, brick-built property with a timber roof.
“It stands back from the road behind a forecourt and inside is a sports or meeting hall, a kitchen and toilets, with a yard outside.
“The old building needs some work but could be put to alternative use or redeveloped, subject to planning consent.”
The property on Victoria Road, near Darlaston and Victoria Parks, is believed to have been built for commercial purposes in or around the Edwardian period.
It is not known exactly when Scouts moved into the building, but it is thought this could have been between 1922 and 1932.
A local history directory from 1921 only lists the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Darlaston Scout Troops as being in existence at that time. But the 4th Darlaston Scout Troop was operating by 1932, according to a report from the Walsall Observer from July that year.
Mr Bassi added that there would be block viewings of the property, with times and dates available from August 21.
The auction, starting at 8.30am on September 11, will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
