Display kitchens set to be sold off at online auction after Midlands firm goes bust
A Walsall auction company is set to sell off ten display kitchens as part of a liquidation sale after a Nuneaton firm went bust earlier this year.
Midlands-based Kumar and Company has been instructed by insolvency practitioners Poppleton & Appleby to sell the assets of Thomas Kitchens in Nuneaton.
The family-run company had been operating for more than 40 years but has fallen victim to a depressed market and is now in the process of going into liquidation, said Raj Kumar, managing director of the Walsall-based auction company.
“It’s a business that has been around for a long time but just can’t make the money it needs to anymore,” he said.
The online sale, which runs until 11am on Thursday, April 10, includes ten complete display kitchens as well as a wide range of kitchen equipment including Samsung microwaves, ceramic hobs, extraction hoods, ovens, sinks and under-counter refrigerators from top brands such as Neff and Franke.
Kumar and Company is a firm of chartered surveyors offering specialist advice for the valuation of complex machinery and business assets.
Incorporated in 2009, the firm acts for insolvency practitioners, local authorities and private businesses across the UK.
As well as asset and business auctions, Kumar and Company also offers valuation reports, pre-lending advice, financial reporting, asset disposal and recovery, and has a specialist audio visual sector knowledge and experience.
The firm can provide a revaluation of assets for statutory accounting purposes and valuations for corporate transactions such as accelerated mergers and acquisitions.
