A new self-storage facility for businesses, traders and people moving home has risen from the ashes of a former foundry in Sandwell.

U Can Store It has launched a 2.5 acre high security storage centre in Phoenix Street, West Bromwich, at the site of the former Rudge Littley foundry.

The site is designed to offer flexible, low-cost self storage facilities in a safe and secure environment.

Managing director Michael Jones said: "The launch of U Can Store It at West Bromwich heralds a very exciting 2007 for our company.

"Our existing site at Aldridge, with over 330 storage units, has been a huge success demonstrating a growing need for low cost self -storage facilities for a whole range of reasons, from businesses that need to store stock or equipment to people moving house.

"We are confident that there will be a large demand for our high security storage service."
