Bloxwich Launchpad celebrates first year of upskilling residents and businesses
In its first year, the facility has supported more than 1,000 residents to gain digital skills
Residents, businesses, partners and community organisations turned out on Wednesday (September 9) to celebrate Bloxwich Launchpad’s first anniversary and one year of upskilling members of the public.
In its first year, Bloxwich Launchpad has supported more than 1,000 residents, delivered more than 9,300 hours of personalised support and engaged with 230 businesses and enterprises and it now has 465 registered members.

The facility, which has helped residents in Bloxwich to update their IT skills, gain new digital skills and qualifications, has also received wider recognition in its first year, winning the RICS Community Benefit Award.
Councillor Nicky Barker, deputy leader of Walsall Council, said: “Bloxwich Launchpad is a brilliant example of what regeneration can achieve when we invest in people as well as places.

“This first year has shown what is possible, but it is only the beginning. We want to see even more local people gaining skills and confidence, more businesses starting and growing, and more opportunities being created in Bloxwich.”
Jason Fisher, centre manager at Bloxwich Launchpad, added: “It has been fantastic to look back on everything we have achieved during our first year.

“I’d like to thank our members, partners and the whole Launchpad team for making the first year such a success.
“We are proud of what we have achieved together, but there is so much more to come, and we look forward to continuing to support the people and businesses of Bloxwich in the years ahead.”
