A further incident occurred on Suttons Drive, Great Barr, where household waste was again fly-tipped. The offender was traced, interviewed, and accepted responsibility, resulting in a £400 fine.

Councillor Adam Hicken, Portfolio Holder for Enforcement and Safe Communities at Walsall Council, said: “Fly-tipping is a criminal offence which blights our streets.

“The power of CCTV cannot be understated in tackling this issue. That is why we have invested in getting additional capacity, which we are now seeing the benefits of.

“We will continue to shine a light on these examples, to ensure the public know this behaviour is not tolerated in Walsall.

“Those who choose to fly-tip in the place we call home risk a substantial fine or prosecution through the courts.”

As part of ongoing investment in enforcement, new CCTV cameras continue to be rolled out across the borough.

All income from Fixed Penalty Notices is reinvested into enforcement activity and environmental services to help keep Walsall clean and safe.

Residents are reminded that fly-tipping can be reported online at go.walsall.gov.uk/apply/myaccount-online-services/report-fly-tip or by calling 01922 653355.
